October's Birthstone: Opal and Tourmaline
DiamondWaveWell, those who have birthdays native to the month of October are some lucky individuals! These people have not one, but two different birthstones.
The Opal is called the "Queen of Gems", as each opal is ridiculously unique. Opals come in a variety of colors and at one point the lore surrounding opals was that that opal could distinguish your company between friend and foe. The tale says that the opal will pale in the presence of foe and darken when nearer to a friend.
Tourmaline is usually electric blue and is extremely valuable and rare. The coloring itself is rare enough that you won't find that shade in any other gemstone!
Use our Gemstone Birthstone Jewelry section on the website to help find a great birthstone piece! This month, we have some wonderful pink Tourmaline!
