Western Australia’s mining minister will reportedly call for tenders to take on a closed diamond mine and its rehabilitation costs, saving the state up to A$40 (US$30.2) million.
The Department of Mines and Petroleum’s general manager of tenure and native title Tony Bullen told the ABC tenders would be called in the next three to six months for the Ellendale diamond mine, and would require a new operator to take on future rehabilitation costs.
