Ann Marie Sharoupim, a 28-year-old pharmacist and mom from Rutherford, New Jersey, has found an original way to create a buzz about her home-made jewelry: she makes them from the breast milk of her customers.

According to Sharoupim, whose unusual craft caught the attention of Fox News, her customers “want to preserve the sweetest, closest moments they had with their little ones”. Sharoupim isn’t the first or only breast-milk jeweler in the world, there are about a dozen more, and according to Fox – demand for such creations is growing. Sharoupim herself says that since she began to work with breast-milk in January, she’s seen a “huge jump” in sales every month.

How does it work? The customer sends in an “ounce or two” of packaged breast milk, preferably in medical-grade storage containers. Then, Sharoupim turns it into a solid, “resin-based material”. Her price range is quite reasonable, ranging from $45 for pendants, to $100 sterling silver earrings.
