Christie’s is gearing up for its “Rare Watches and Exceptional Complications” sale on June 7, which will include 169 pieces. Among them is a 14k white gold airplane-form watch made especially for Charles Lindbergh’s mother, and valued at $10,000 - $15,000.

According to Blue Art Info, the watch is based on the design of the custom-built, single-engine plane that Lindbergh flew on his first solo flight from New York to Paris in 1927.

Another unique piece is the Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona Ref. 6239, a war-torn Rolex worn by a former US Army Special Forces soldier, who performed discreet missions around the world with the Rolex firmly attached to his wrist. The watch will probably fetch between $60,000 and $90,000, according to Christie’s.

Other notable pieces include a rare A. Lange & Söhne stainless steel wristwatch from 1998, estimated at a minimum of $200,000, and a set of four Patek Philippe world time wristwatches, each with its own collection of sapphire, diamond, emerald and ruby stones, which is estimated at $300,000 to $500,000.
