Someone, somewhere, thinks Donald Trump will be the President one day: Last Wednesday, an anonymous buyer paid $300,000 for a diamond engagement ring once owned by Marla Maples – Donald’s Trump wife from 1993 to 1999.

The 7.45-carat emerald-cut Harry Winston diamond ring was auctioned by Joseph DuMouchelle. It was offered to Maples by Trump, a real estate mogul turned Republican nominee, in 1991. Following the couple's divorce in 1999, Maples selected Joseph DuMouchelle to auction the ring, where it was sold for $110,000. Recently, the buyer of the ring has returned to Joseph DuMouchelle to sell the diamond engagement ring at auction again.

“We are thrilled that the ring sold for the estimated price,” auction house President and auctioneer Joseph DuMouchelle said in a statement, “We’re happy that the Maples-Trump Diamond now has a new home. It’s an extraordinary Harry Winston ring, and we hope that the new owner will enjoy the rarity of its beauty.”
