Karlie Kloss Gives the LBD a Red Carpet Makeover

Many stars go for sexy, sophisticated, or even daring when choosing their ensembles, but looks that are chic and approachable are in short supply. Last night at WSJ. Magazine’s Innovator Innovator Awards, Karlie Kloss stepped out in a black Miu Miu dress that struck all the right notes, and brought a welcome touch of whimsy to the black-tie dress code. Kloss and her stylist, Karla Welch, have been skilled at playing to the supermodel’s fashion strengths, choosing looks that highlight her athletic shape, while still remaining girlish. It’s true that Kloss could wear just about anything, but the combination of glittering fabric, stiletto heels, and diamond bangles felt true to her personal style. The supermodel has taken a shine to embellishments in recent months, adding Swarovski crystals or statement jewelry to even her most casual looks; so a dress that comes complete with its own bling was right up her alley.
