Multicolour Gems:

Tourmaline production has only scraped the surface in Africa and prospects for new discoveries throughout the central and southern part of the continent are exciting. Most of the discoveries are completely random and we’re just waiting for farmers or road builders to stumble upon the next important deposit.  Meanwhile, here is a selection to highlight just a very few of the colors and occurrences of tourmalines from Africa and Madagascar. The largest is an 8.10 carat  peackok heart-shaped tourmaline from Tanzania. The smaller lime and olive ovals and the center dark red stone are from Nigeria while the remaining pink and red  tournalines are from Madagascar.
