April is almost here!

And, for some of us, this means we are only mere weeks (40 days, 4 hours, 54minutes, 37 seconds) away from losing ourselves in the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones (Oh…John Snow!).

But for those of us lucky to be born in April, it’s time to revel in the gorgeous glitter of our diamond birthstone.

Diamonds are amazing. They are fantastically beautiful and eternally desirable. And like us, each antique diamond has its own individual character – unique and elemental.

The essence of an antique diamond comes from the stone’s sparkle and color, but even more so from the individual artist who designed and executed the stone’s cut.

Like a sculptor, the stone cutter orchestrated every cleave and cut of a polished antique gem. He was aware of the raw material’s potential, consciously drawing attention to the personality of each stone by calculating where facets should be introduced based on the trajectory of light.

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”   Micheangelo

Decades ago, cutting diamonds was less about a prescribed formula for a specific brightness, and more about an artist determining the best way to bring the stone’s natural beauty to the fore – transforming gems into works of art.

We remind our customers that no antique diamonds are ever alike. Your relationship to antique diamond pieces is unique as well; you will innately respond to the diamond of your dreams once you see it. And, the connection will be strong and undeniable.

Diamonds touch us with their history, their artistry, and their mystique.
