Multicolour Gems#Sphene is a beautiful and highly dispersive green or golden yellow gemstone found chiefly in northern Madagascar. This large crystal is from the deposit just east of Andrafinkona and south of Milanoa. We bought it for the large size and remarkable crystallization. Well defined crystals in this size range are very uncommon. There’s some gem quality in it, but mostly small stones so this one is probably left better as is and saved for a collection or a museum.
