Hemmerle’s Jewels Fresh From The Garden

Hemmerle’s Jewels Fresh From The Garden

Jewels du Jour
I recently received a copy of Hemmerle’s Delicious Jewels – a unique jewelry catalog meets cookbook filled with incredible creations from the innovative jewelry house and delectable recipes from chef Tamasin Day-Lewis. On top of all the mouth-watering gems and dishes, the culinary photography really heightens this book to a work of art itself. Aptly named the “Vegetable Collection,” the House of Hemmerle masterfully sculpted 11 brooches and a pair of earrings into bejeweled vegetables using a colorful mix of copper, iron, silver, gold and exquisite gem stones.  Every curve and crevice is carefully crafted to create sparkling replicas of mother nature’s garden jewels.  My favorite pieces from the earthen bounty include the “Sweet Corn” made of silver, yellow and white gold, oriental pearls, and white diamonds, the “Carrot Earrings” comprised of copper, white gold and sapphire, the “Aubergine” composed of white gold, silver and spinel, and the “Califlower” created in white gold, silver and diamond.  All the contents within this extraordinary book are truly a feast for the eyes and appetite!  Note:  I will include some of the recipes from the book shortly.
