Everyday Gold Shines at Bonhams June California Jewels Sale
Jewels du JourAs the spring auction season comes to a close, the June sales offer one last opportunity to buy before the summer break. Important diamonds dominated April and May, however more everyday pieces rule the auction block in June. Case in point is the selection curated in Bonhams California Jewels sale on Monday, June 13th. At 420 lots, the auction is double the size of Bonhams Fine Jewelry sales. Estimates range from $800 to $30,000, however the majority of lots are estimated at $5,000 and under. Continuing to be au courrant in estate jewelry is wearable, “everyday” gold jewelry and this sale includes plenty of diverse, versatile examples, both signed and unsigned. The sale includes classic designs by renowned jewelry houses, including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, and Chopard as well as 20th century and contemporary designers like Verdura, Wander, Elizabeth Locke and Asch Grossbardt. Of particular note is a number of coral designs by Italian jewelry house Bulgari.
